While I don't claim to be an expert at all about these things, I have done 2 4x4 driving courses and on both occasions i was told that you must only reverse down a slope like that in low range with both feet on the floor or this will happen.

To be honest I thought it was a little silly when it was explained to me but I did it anyway - now I'm glad I do!
