    Australian maps for IGO8...where would I get them

    I bought one of these GPS units to see what they're like......7" GPS........
    It has the IGO8 navigation software, but only USA,Canada,Mexico maps. Where can I get Australian maps for IGO8. Internet searches come up with a lot of file sharing sites, but surely there's some more trustworthy GPS software sites out there, just hard to find them amongst all the crap.
    Any suggestions ? I'm not necessarily looking for free software, but as it's only a cheap unit to experiment with, I don't want to waste too much money on software that may or may not work.

    Try this thread the units on that thread use IGO 8, I am sure someone on there will have found a source apart from loading up other GPS software.

    A most disappointing site full of egos to match - do things their way or the highway - they will just direct you to the IGO8 site to buy the maps.

    If you've just bought the unit, email the supplier and tell them you want maps for Australia.

    Shouldn't be a problem, mine came with maps of the entire world almost.

    The 2gb card was full.

    I did ask the supplier after I had bought the unit, but he only had 2006 Aussie maps.


    Thanks to the help from other members on here, I now have the latest Aussie maps. The unit works really well.

    Try Oziexplorer.

    Have a look at oziexplorer site, I have not tried it yet but it looks OK and a lot of people use it going by forums. Comments and info please.
