Ok, have set the maps up on my Mac lap top.
It runs very well on the Mac platform.
I am very impressed with the level of detail.
Still considering which Garmin GPS to buy.

I used to have a Magellan explorer with the discoveroz mapping on it. The mapping was excellent, but the Magellan died after only 13 months.
The mapping came on a SD card which I still have.
Would love to be able to get the discoveroz mapping on the Garmin, but there different mapping systems apparently.

    Cheers

Yes Garmin are a bit anal when it comes to sharing their maps?
The V3 has got loads of detail and it is possible to zoom into 20m resolution.
I have bought the Garmin 3760, the screen on these is great. It is quick and easy to switch between the road maps and the topo maps that come with the V3 and also the road maps that come with the 3760.
I have noticed some errors in the maps on the Topo side of things some features are out by 100 meters.
Looking forward to using it off road when i get the chance.
