    Polaris NG 7700

Reading a 4wd mag while fixing a trailer brake light issue- thank Craig and crew at Ritters. Notices a article on a Ploaris GPS intigrated so while wating rang. I was told they fit a an intigrated NG 7700 to D3. Sent me a few photos of a NSW registered Disco3 Reg "ROC" with a picture
    Does anyone have this?

Features look good ( assuming they work well!)

Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT.

I had one installed to my Nissan Navara on Thursday, in two days the list of faults are:
Stereo drops out when you go under a bridge, in tunnel, between buildings, even next to a tree.
Bluetooth for phone is no good, it is crackly and bad to decipher.
When phone rings it takes so long for the unit to realise and give you the option to answer that people hang up.
Phone function is incredibly quiet, you have to turn the volume right up when on the phone, then when you hang up the radio deafens you. (phone has its own volume setting which is at max).
When you turn on the Hema maps for off road mapping you can barely get through the menus as the touch screen doesn't work right, 20+ presses to get it to do something.
Offroad maps have frozen in place now, can't get rid of it from the screen so now the unit is useless.

Its going in on monday to get sorted, if they can't fix it i'll be asking for a refund.

Oh, and they refused to look at it as they are too busy, so I called back and booked another one to be installed in another vehicle, which they think they are doing on monday, but i'm taking the original one for that timeslot, very unimpressed with their service as well as the unit.

I would support that - my brother has one in his cruiser and wished he had never got it - big waste of $$$.

Also getting mixed write-ups on other forums.

I don't believe they are worth the risk.

Sorry to hear that, that article in the 4x mag showed them to be just the ticket. I thought of getting their NG488 One din / Single Din unit for my Defender but shyed away due to its smaller screen size, Glad I did.

I ended up getting a chinese unit from ebay, $180 US plus post. Dont go for the baloney on the Polaris site saying they are better because they dont have an optical drive either.

Running Oziexplorer with my Hema maps loading from an 8gb SD card , menus are nice, onscreen kb is large enough to be useable, and you can control all oziexplorer options without needing reading glasses and a stylus

Radio / ipod / CD / Bluetooth / Reversing Cam all work great, Bluetooth screen pops up the instant the phone rings & answers as soon as I push the phone icon, My Garmin Nuvi BT is not even this good, Also plays DVD movies & has a TV not that I'll ever need those.

Only negative is the chinese instructions, took me a couple of days to work out how to have the radio the same time as Hema maps

I had a $450 Double din chinese unit in my 100 series and it was almost as good, google TP09X1.

The bonus of this paticular unit is the screen hangs below the Head unit over un unoccupied part of the dash & there is a nice curved recesses for the Lighter plug & ARB switch.

Ive learned that just because a GPS has a high price does not reflect its quality, I had a $1000 Hema / VMS & was the biggest piece of junk ever.

Just make sure whatever unit you buy runs Windows CE and has at least 12 ch Sat RX , Took a bit of a risk with this as the ebay ad did not mention how many Sat chanels but Ozi exp shows me picking up 18 most of the time so its probably a 23 ch job.

more pics here In Dash GPS late TD5, Ideas ??
