D4-3 litre SE built in Navigation

Does anyone ever use the $4000 inbuilt navigation / reverse camera set up supplied from the factory ?? We NEVER use the navigation because it is useless. It was out of date when we took delivery so maps were useless, and it does not show red light cameras, and does not tell me when I am over the speed limit. It cannot store a destination address, so I had to put it in every time I went to the same place. It keeps sending me home instead of where I want to go ??
The reverse camera is good though, but does not come on every time I select reverse ?
I have a cheapy Uniden Sat Nav I stick on the screen, and it tells me where I need to go, can store many destinations, will tell me when I am speeding, gives me my elevation, and ETA. Choice of voices to give me instructions, and beeps when I approach any red light cameras or radar installations (Fixed)
    All this for under $300.00
Why can't L/R get it right when I am spending $4000 to do what my Uniden does for $300 ?
For that money, we should get free map updates as well, but not so !!

It is a common complaint with the "Expensive" built in nav system. I have a Garmin 1690 that I use when we do trips. The main reason for this is I can plan the routes and way points on Laptop and load them on the Garmin.

However we do use the LR system on trips as well. Entering co-ordinates for camp sites is far easier and less error prone on the LR system than the Garmin.

I only use the Garmin in the LR for trips it other wise lives in my Mini. So far touch wood even the out of date system has found places we need to find.

    Heres a few tips:

    - A SPEEDOMETER will tell you when you are speeding... Pay ATTENTION and then you will know

    - REDLIGHT Cameras are irrelevant - Dont run RED lights and you will NEVER have an issue...

    - You took delivery of a system that was outdated? You are joking right? I would always demand the latest updates on a new vehicle...

Ah, Tombie, Like the red light cameras, your post is irrelevant. Your Avatar says it all!
As a new user to this site, I expected some intelligent replies.
Unfortunately, yours falls very short of that mark.
No further comment from me is necessary.

Hey Mr Anal Retentive It was light humour - you know - a joke...

ALL 3 of my 'dot points' are valid...

The factory Nav system is, has and was known to be a little bland and uninspiring... Apparently though, the MY12 unit has come a lot further to being a useful accessory - No replacement for paying attention though!

But I will return to one of my points:
    - You took delivery of a system that was outdated? You are joking right? I would always demand the latest updates on a new vehicle...
Seriously! You laid down a pile of coin and didnt insist on it being up to date?

I'd be taking this matter up with your dealer.

And for goodness sake - grow a sense of humour - This isnt the bloody Caravanners Forum.
