Laptop stands

Ok,
Now the gps reciever is mounted to the top of the snorkle
line running down thru some flex tubing into the cab...

pic coming

plugged into laptop, and SWMBO
complains about nursing it in her lap

it can sit on the console, but I would like to
buy/fabricate a laptop holder/stand

Does anyone have a pic of their setup
with a laptop please

laptop stands.. hmmm

there are some real pigs on the shelves out there from what i have seen. All are generic and really dont suit most peoples needs.

some fan cooled, some adjustable, nearly all cumbersome.

me i would be getting my local plastics/signmaker guy to make me one to suit my laptop and console.

fold and roll up some clear 5mm acrilic, make sure it has stops to hold the sides and front, so it clears all the bits it needs to clear eg cdrom, usb ports, fan inlets/outlets.

make up a cardboard template so the plastics guy just needs to cut and fold/roll to suit.

shouldnt be too hard

Try:

http://www.ram-mount.com/

That can be obtained through:

The problem seems to be holding the Laptop still whilst thrashing the car off road 8O

I'm working on something that mounts on the JC bar and can swivel so that I can see it when travelling alone..

I have been looking at this for a while. i would not recomend mounting a laptop as the vibrations will kill it quick smart. start saving up like me and get a panel computer. like this...

Yeah sniperator is right, I have a buggered Acer - which was subjected to the same - The ole man - Landroverterry bought a flat panel to be mounted in the local SES vehicle for this reason - only thing with laptop is that you have to keep it cool - as computers dont like heat.... so i found out.

other than that I have been dealing with panasonic at work for a tough book we are getting - bat at 5 large its a bit rich for private use.... though i recon ill make good use of it on the weekends!!!!

look at ebay - the ole man got his screen from Honkers - and although id personally never buy anything off ebay from overseas he bought two - sent one back under warranty and got it back quick smark - its been a success story.

try to get one with touch screen that is compatible with lappy cos that way once its secured you wont have to get it out.

may i ask where did you get the extrenal antenna from?

why do you think the flatpanel will behave better than the laptop?

No Hinge - but I would stand corrected if you knew better - also less bulky, and can be mounted and left in situ...

This is why I like my PDA based one, moving map all in one small package.
