You cannot get anything better than a RAM Mount. I have just got one for my Magellan Xplorist XL GPS unit and it is fantastic. Well made, fits the unit like a glove and heaps better than the Universal mount I had previously which I used for my PDA as well.

I am now looking at what RAM have to offer for my PDA (downloaded the 136 page catalogue).

Can't help with a preferred supplier as I was lucky to stumble across the Xplorist XL mount at a 4wd shop.

I believe Numpty has made a mount that attaches where the ashtray sits in his defender maybe he or Mrs Numpty could post a pic.

Great idea with the ashtray but a bit hard if thats where you put the uhf mount. I have a suction mount for my garmin etrex will take a photo and post up on monday, by that time i should have fitted the fridge temp gauge should look pretty good all things promising. Am getting embarressed about all these techo things i'm fitting to a fender though

Oil in the Harness, suspension knock, transmission clunk, engine oil leaks, exhaust manifold leaks, centrifugal oil filter stripped bolts, a/c leaks, door leaks, wouldn't trade it for the world

Never get embarrassed about Defenders. As you can see in the pictures of my PDA mount, my UHF is mounted to the cubby box fixings. Amazing what you can do with the inside of the fender and it looks like it should/could belong there.

Heres a hint, my Navman used to fall out of its bracket due to extreme g forces in the disco so i used some velcro between the mount and the back of the PDA. Now it wont move unless you really want it to.
