Thread: God Damn computers

Hi Tony,

Two files need to be in the system for each map...an *.ozf2 file and a *.map file.

Were your maps from the CD that was going around?

You need to make sure that all files are down loaded and that you point Ozi to the correct directory for the *.map file.

Well I think that that is the go...but I'm not a brain surgeon either :roll: :wink:

I'v had the c d 's for a couple of years now theres 7 in the set,Ime shure that last time we (mick)just loaded them into oziexplora an hey presto it worked.

So I have no idea whats going on I'm much better with a spanner...

This hard by forum.

Open Oziexplorer

Presuming that you have loaded all the files then go to "file" in the top menu bar and select "configuration" from the drop down menu.

A dialogue box called "configuration" will appear.

The opening box will have a tab called "system" and in that box there will be a section called "File Paths". One of those will give you the opportunity to search for the directory for the *.map files called "Map File Path" the open file icon on the right hand side will allow you to browse for the files...browse and locate the files.

This might require a telephone conversation.

Yep - sorry tont been away with work for a while.

Tony has the Topo View disks and needs the .map files that are on the OZI explorer disk - or you can download them from the OZI site i think.. they are usually on the OZI disk under extras i think
they can also be downloaded from here oziexplrer.com go to "Australian Page" where they are listed under "Australian TopoView maps produced by the LPI of NSW"

there is a file for each of the cd's

download them into the file in OZI explorer program file called "maps" - these .map files are the data that goes with the Topo view maps you have.

once you have done that you need to go into congiguration under image files or something like that and tell the program to look in c:/programs/oziexplorer/maps or similar ( the place you just loaded the maps into.

if you load your topo view disks onto your hard drive then this is the best place to put them too.

if you run from the cd then you need to tell the program in configuration to look at your cd rom drive for the map files.

its a bit hard to tell you how to do it online, im donwloading the program now so i can do screen shots and talk you through it

im off to work again soon - will get back in a day or so and see how ya went - should have it up and running for the weekend. - though i think im off to cobar friday

still have a bit of a problem with the curser going mad when I connect the GPS but its only a minor inconvenience
