Not sure what sort of vehicle you want to put this in but remember that some GPS struggle to pick up a signal on a Defender due to the near vertical windscreen. Mine has an external antenna connection as a result.
Oh I misunderstood, in that case I cant really help I didn't even know you could access the OS on an "out the box" GPS, we live and learn.
Only thing I can add really is that if the GPS is running any windows platform the resolution might be adjustable but if you get a standard GPS its unlikely the actual monitor will run a resolution other than what the application was written for; but again you never know.

Yep, i have an LG based on winCE which I've cracked to run OZexIt cannot change resolution, (god its like running an windows machine from the early 90's
), but i presume the larger new models may run a different res to produce the optimal pic, or the newer winCE may allow changes in these settings.
