Using the PC ... I made a directory on a blank SD card called OziCE2.31.
I put the OziCE program complete into that folder ... the only maps in the maps folder are the default included ones ... all your real maps should be on a seperate SD card.

(You could also just copy the existing OziCE folder on your SD card into the NANDFlash ... BUT ... remove all your maps from the maps folder first ... they won't fit into the NANDFlash ... OziCE without maps took up about 10MB of the XL488's internal storage memory ... 202MB still free)

Boot up to the GPS screen.
Go "Settings" / "Application" / "File transfer"

On the left hand pane, is the SD card / the right hand side is the internal NANDFlash.

On the left, select the OziCE2.31 folder .... then tap the ">>" button below ... and wait while OziCE is copied across ... it'll take a bit. When done, there'll be an OziCE2.31 folder in the right hand pane. If you double tap on it, you'll see the contents of the folder ... OziCE ... you'll see the Map & Data folders as well.

Go back 1 screen "<==" and change the "Application" path to the NANDFlash / OziCE2.31 / OziExplorerCE... file.

When you run OziCE you'll need to change the configuration to look for the files & images on the "StoreageCard" (arrange them to suite your needs) ... the "Data" folder path in OziCE I left as the NANDFlash so all my tracks, routes and waypoints stay in the GPS and can be laid over any maps on the SD card ... they don't go when you remove the SD card. You can use the "File transfer" function as well to copy/backup your NANDFlash/OziCE2.31/Data folder as required to an SD card.

You can temporarily use the OziCE/Maps folder in the NANDFlash to store a small number of maps, and run without an SD installed (load just the maps for the area you are travelling ... delete them when finished ... the maps load & move faster / smoother when running from the NANDFlash internal memory).

When you change your maps configuration, make the StoreageCard first in the list, and OziCE/Maps second ... that way the file/open map dialogue will open on the SD card, not the internal maps folder ... unless of course you want it to open in the NANDFlash/OziCE/Maps folder.

Hope that helps. The USB port is disabled within the machine and only works for power input.

But it only takes a little work to get it going really well.

I have used a scotch lock to split the wire going to the camera (near the camera) and then scotch this split wire to scotch into the reversing light wire.
I did the same with the ignition wire and sent the scotched wire to a switch mounted on the dash. This now gives two features. When dash board switch is on the only time the gps is converted to cam is when in reverse and when off it displays only cam.
For me I only use the off switch when I want to check out the coupling and the camper trailer when moving, otherwise it is always in the on position.

Hi Stace,

If you wire the camera as shown in instructions to the reversing light, then GPS will turn on in camera mode automatically (assuming it is in Sleep mode).
If in GPS mode it will automatically go to camera mode when reverse selected.
If you want a switch to turn camera on when not in reverse then a diode from camera initiate connected to reverse circuit and another diode from 12 V to camera initiate will work.
