Just thought I'd add a few updated pic,s

Progress has slowed up due to that other thing thats gets in the way of fun! ........Work!!
As can be seen... all the floor panels are now in place. also one front guard and the radiator panel.
Still have to panel beat a few small dents out of the passengers side guard before a little paint is added.

And one thing i have given up on is a finishing date.... to many have come and gone!

    Anyway enjoy

I didn't realise you had vent screens on it, too. Cool! What are the 3 additional dials?

You have done a fantastic job. Magic. It will be the best looking vehicle on the island.

I pulled the vent screens out of an ex military landy i have sitting up in the paddock. They were still in pretty good condition. I just ran them thru the sand blasting booth and came up like new. Heres a few pic's of the donor

I also pulled out the small instrument panel that was holding the oil Temp gauge [above] and modified it to fit an after market Water temp and oil pressure gauge. [these can now be seen to the left of the steering wheel on my rebuild]
The one on the right is just a rev counter i pulled out of a LWB Series 3 that is also up in the paddock

    Doesn't time fly!!
Thought it was about time for an update it's been a few months since the last one so here goes

Things have slowed up a fair amount due to work.
So it's been one day a week on the build and 6days working wish it was the other way round

One good thing is i have been driving her around, Well up and down the drive and so far it all works!![touch wood]

I still have to finish painting the body work,
    Finish painting the hardtop roof,
rust repair door bottoms and paint,
    finish painting the rim’s,
    fit all the glass,
Install the new wiring loom when it arrives in the
mail [have given up on the old one was it was given me even more grey hairs]
and a million other small jobs that i can’t think of at the moment

    Here’s a few pic’s that i took this arvo

    Anyway enjoy

Good stuff, Neil. She's coming along beautifully. It's giving me more impetus, seeing how your project's going (not that I've ever actually thought of giving up. Hehehehe). Just wonderful seeing the ol' IIA getting a new lease on life. I've got a 200Tdi Defender tucked away somewhere, and I love it - but for me the IIA is the all-time classic Landy.

    Cheers,

    John

    John

Have to agree on that one also John

Next day or so will post up a few pic's of the newly installed wiring loom that arrived late last week from the UK
What difference this has made i now have a fully working electrical system!! Yah
With the landed cost onto Norfork Island at $240au i think this was pretty good bargain! [when you com pair it against an Auto sparky]

Nothing was labeled but we soon manged to work it out with the good old Haynes Manual as all the wiring was colour coded to the original. Also replaced the fuse box with a new original type

So hopefully no Electrical problems for a few years........Touch Wood

    Cheers

I am thinking that's a really good price. I'll be interested to see the pictures.

That does sound a pretty good price for a complete loom. I'm almost tempted myself....but my loom is a homemade job I came up with as a student twenty years ago trying to finish my final exams and put my Land Rover back together in time to head off on a long trip to mark the end of studies. I am kind of attached to it. It's unique, and it works.

Mind you.. a nice original one must be terrific.
