You know I had never really taken much notice of the sales staff trying to sell protection packs at the time of purchase but your right, they are always sexy young things in tight clothes and always flirty. These dealer Tactics are plain unfair.

You can purchase it from anyone at all who sells this in their range of Allianz products. There is a slight difference between buying it when your vehicle is "new" (I don't know if this needs to be under a certain number of kilometers) or "old" (anytime prior to factory warranty expiring).
I purchased mine from my leasing broker even though the dealer was another party entirely.
I purchased mine from the lease guy (Luke) at Southern Cross land rover here in Toowoomba. He is currently doing a special for AURLO members.
Much embarrassed my wife when we were buying the D3.
We were sitting around waiting for the salesman to get info on colors & stuff when a youngish lady came over to introduce herself & mentioned she sold the tint, interior/exterior protection.
"Oh, your the Ming Mole?" said I.
Wife went very red, told me I was rude & probably hit me.
The Ming Mole just laughed & said it was a different brand & better.
Probably because she felt guilty the wife talked me into buying the whole kit with all the extras. X-Factor is the brand I think.
Must say that with 5 kids 7 or younger it does seem to make cleaning up spills, muddy foot marks & greasy finger prints easier.
Not so impressed with the exterior protection. Got a couple of small stains that will not come off.
Also I like waxing cars & watching the shine come up. I kinda miss doing that.

Does anyone really know whether these sales-day protectorants and the like actually work?
A couple of years ago I bought a 350z (mid life crisis job) and got conned with the guilt trip line about having to spend a little more on my "investment" and make sure it was protected. To be honest I still waxed it (and found I had to!) and when I sold it a few months ago the blackish wear and tear stains on the beige leather seat wouldn't budge.
So do these things actually do anything, or are we just paying while they park the car in the workshop for a couple of hours???
To be honest I'm happier spending about 50 bucks buying decent brand name products and doing the job myself - can't wait till my D4 arrives and I give her first wax job! It's a bit like that add where the guy stands back and looks at his Colourbond roof. (Hmm, thinking aloud maybe we should start another thread and find out what products other people use and how they find them).

A good quality brand is wise and a bit of elbow grease and besides, if you really care for your vehicle it will get looked after. I have been getting mine done lately at a car wash joint and the finish is excellent, and the gloss is still ok after a few weeks.......even the brake dust doesn't stick to the front wheels as much. Anyway, paint protection is a scam. The paint is guaranteed anyway, and if they have to sell paint protection, then does this mean the original paint is crap? Especially when they (LR) charge $1800 for metallic paint....yeah right!
Buy some decent car care products and have fun caring for your investment....there I go sounding like the paint pro!!
