    Hello Owl

I had these. They are fantastic. Very very strong! I had the full rail to chassis ones. They will easily support the vehicle on rocks etc.

Very expensive though. Cost me over $800 getting them into the country. Even Quarantine slugged me $250 in inspection fees.

I thought the same for the GOE sliders! The 3/16" (4.8mm) steel of the "Off Roading" sliders is more appealing, and also protects the air pump, but the price........

The sliders on my old GQ took a beating over the years - saved mega $$'s in panel beating costs in their time. Maybe US$1400 + 800 in shipping is still cheap!

I looked further at the GNVP site and found this:
GN Vehicle Protection Sump Guards Ladder Rock Sliders Sill Protectors Tree Sliders Discovery 3 Land Rover Discovery 4 Disco 3 Disco 4

5mm steel. No protection for the air pump and 450 pounds (~AU$750) plus getting them here.

The GOE sliders are 6mm high-impact alloy - I ran one set for 4 years, through 6 competitions, so they certainly got bashed around. They're still in use - re-powdercoated and sold second-hand, so I'm pretty confident that they do the job!

With the GOE design, the compressor plate is a separate item. This allows easy access to the compressor (important if you're using dealer-servicing), and the slider doesn't rigidly connect the monoform body to the chassis, another important point.

    Cheers,

    Gordon
