Just ordered a D4.... hopefully a good decision!

Well, I just traded the Defender on a D4. It's only the 2.7, (couldn't stretch to the 3.0), but in white with 7 seats in ebony leather and the all important e-diff.
I'll be really sad to see the Defender go, It's a car I really like, but unfortunatly has been too unrelaible. I've still got a month with the Defender before the D4 is delivered, hopefully I'll be less worried about my decision when I pick up the D4!!!

    Cheers,

    Tim

Hi TimNZ, Definately haven't made the wrong choice. The 2.7 is a great motor. The 3.0 is even better, but you dont miss what you haven't got.
    Cheers, Craig

The 2.7 now has the crank from the 3.0 , so there
shouldn't be any engine block problems .

Did you get it from Ossie Park or Southern?

    What was your experience like?

    Hi Dorko,
I purchased the D4 from Southern. After my last "experience" at Ossie Park I've vowed never to give them any of my $$. So far Southern LR have looked after me.
I would have liked to go back to Albany LR, but circumstanses didn't allow for this. If the D4, (or Land Rover Australia), let me down in the same way the Defender did this will be the last LR I ever purchase new.

    Thanks for reply.

The D4 is a solid car... you will like any car have minor issues. EG> software updates... but other than that you should have no real dramas.

Interesting feedback... i bought my FL2 from Ossie Park, and when it came to the D4, i thought i would try Southern. However they treated my wife and me like idiots. We may be younger than the norm... but that put me right off at the start. Not only was the sales girl useless about the car, but the sales manager was just a arrogant nob. I really do think it comes to a age thing, because other people i talk to reckon he is ok, then again they are old(er)

Worst still when i told them Ossie park could offer me a better offer they said "Why didnt you give us a chance..." Oh i'm sorry, when i ask for you best price, i expect a realistic price." A couple grand off RRP is not your best price, call me stupid, but i dont waste my money"

Furthermore they said no way they could match or go lower on price, so i bought from Ossie Park. The next day they rang me expecting i was lying about the price and expected me to buy from them... very unprofessional experience overall.

I do believe Southern have a better workshop. I will give it a go when its due for a service. I do think Ossie parks servicing is painful due to the lack of knowledge in there product, but maybe thats a LR thing.

The Puma Defs are garbage . You won't have many faults
    with a D4 ....... other than software ( resolvable ) , diffs and
EPB if you're caught in the statistics.

I've had that from Toyota and Audi . It cuts across all customer ages and vehicle prices. LC200 Sahara and A4 3.0V6 . This attitude is very much
down to the sales person . Doesn't help being in WA either IMO .......
