    seat belt/airbag warning light

My D3 has a red light on the right hand side of Tacho that comes straight on once l start the car.
The warning is seat belt air bag red light, with one ding to indicate fault.
Any ideas on what the best way to fix.
Tried resetting computer and still the same.
Sent it to Landrover, said it was the connectors behind the dash.
    Still no luck.
    ???? any ideas guys????

Has the vehicle had Q045 recall carried out?
This is to do with the spiral cassette behind the steering wheel.
In early vehicles the mounting of the spiral cassette was misaligned & this recall was to rectify this problem as the cassette would fracture causing all different faults & one that was most common was an airbag problem.
I would be checking all connections, clean, squeeze together, clear faults & see how it goes. If this fails then possibly a sprial cassette. Lastly may-be, just may-be an airbag. although not a common problem.

    Cheers.

    Morning Neil,
The dealership said the connector joiners that supply power to the computers for airbag, seatbelts, etc etc were not providing a good contact.
As a result, the connectors were replaced accordingly.
This cleared the issue for about a day, then it started again, but now the warning lights up the whole time from start up.

Hi Sniegy, l am pretty sure all the down loads have been completed, when last at Landrover Dealership.
I have never heard of the spiral cassette, so l will mention this and go from there.
My D3 is the very first few that came into Australia, Jan 05.
They had a few issues with the first batch to Aust, but most issue were sorted pretty quick.
    Cheers Dave

Clock spring failure. Known issue there was a TSB for it so push the dealer to fix. Due to airbag being involved it is a safety issue.

Not too sure if this is the same fault I'm getting in my '06 RRS, most times the airbag warning light (and "bong") comes on when I'm leaving work. Hard acceleration, turning right, up hill
Is there an easy way to find out if the recall work has been done? Bought my car second hand so I'm not 100% sure what work has been done.
    Many thanks.
    Rohan.

Ring your local dealer with the last 6 digits of the VIN & ask do I have any outstanding actions on my vehicle?

We check every vehicle on LR's UK system. So even if you didn't know & were booked in with us we would just do it anyway.

    Cheers.

Pete, is the same info available on Topix? ie when I enter my VIN it says "There are currently no outstanding Campaigns for this vehicle", does this refer to outstanding actions you mention above?
    Cheers,

If you are a registered member, then yes for recalls. It may (not sure about Gen. Public) even give you a list of TSB's & SSM's.

    Cheers
