These rims and tyres look great

I am getting a 2.7 D4 next month, on 18in wheels. Any idea where I could get some 18in or even better 17in rims for placing "going bush" tyres on? I was going to get one additional genuine rim from LR, but it is nearly $900. I wonder why genuine components are so expensive?
I can get Cooper ATRs for the 18's, but I have been led to believe the selection is even better for 17's. Brian

Hi Roamer,
What a wonderful sounding trip
I have the Gregory NP on my radar, what did you think of the challenge and what was your impression of the country?
Did you pull the KK through there?

HI RichardK,
We did the Bullitta stock route, and some of the Humbert track.
The Bullita route has a rather challenging jump up just after you get started(its a one way track) slow going till ya get to "stock yard camp" (angry freshie in that billabong who holds his ground), then fairly serious drop down into the East Bain river, and quiet bouldery as you go along it for abit, other wise quite staight forward. The country is in fanastic condition, it has had a fair bit of rain (Limestone gorge road washed away hence closed)plenty of fish
even I caught some![]()
We did pull the KK thru, even though trailers not recommended ,but hey its a Land Rover & KK, they loved it, just keep it slow, and trust your LR, you will not be disappointed.
So I suggest you get out from behind the keyboard and get behind the steeringwheel asap (LOL)
Cheers Ken
PS. LRAust came up with the windscreen in a week,![]()
I hope to be going to Bullita next year.
Huge amounts of cave and Australia's longest is there.
Plenty of limestone not even looked at yet.![]()
True, when we were there Limestme Gorge rd washed away, but you could walk into (3km) camp area then into gorge, they had a fairly decent road block, didnt seem like they were going to repair rd in the near future, anyway whats an extra 3km walk each way, keeps crowd to a minimum.
Cheers Ken
Roamer, where did you get to with the screen? Just been quoted for OEM with sensor at $1150. Different screen to the D3 apparently, no after market yet.Originally Posted by roamer
Also do you reckon the D4 screen is weak. I picked up a 10c bullsye, put a sticker on ot when I got home and by morning it was cracked 20cm in 3 directions.
I have had at least half a dozen similar on my Patrol which have not spread and have been repaired.

Hi OBT, went through insurance, Windscreens O'briens did it, they said OEM because car too new for them to have a template yet, LRA said 4 weeks but turned up in a week. all fixed , all good, they even knew to get new A pillar clips.[I] don't know if the screens are weak or not, but the cracks certainly did grow quick.
Cheers Ken
