Well guys, I pick up my new D4 SE tomorrow - finally!!!!
As with many other I'm a convert from a 100 Series Landcruiser - so very excited and apprehensive!
Next step will be modifications. Current list in priority order is (please feel free to comment on order or modifications):
- Dual battery system - cold beer 1st priority
- UHF - I have a IC-440 - any installation tips?
- Roof rack - wife is "packing challenged"
- Bull bar - waiting for ARB but ECB certainly looks good?
- Lightforce spotties - not sure how good the standard lights are
- Winch - not sure about this - only used my Landcruiser winch twice and only once for me!
- Rear storage - needs to be easily removable cause want to keep the 7 seats.
And that will do me - probably take a few years to do everything!!!

Lucky bastard.
Michael,
Congrats on the new vehicle, you wont be dissappointed
Lots of info provided in past threads, so "Search" is your friend to start with...Lots & Lots of reading to catch up on.
Also if you havent seen, there is a FAQ section at the top of the Thread list.
Again there a lots of helpful people on this great Forum to advise what we all think is best.
So again all the best & Good luck.
Cheers
Congrats Michael, I am one of those ex LC100 owners. You will notice a big difference in comfort, and depending on which motor you chose, a difference in power.
You will also find that you want to keep driving after you have arrived where you were going.
Happy motoring, Craig

Excellent. It seems ages since we have been out. Now to start some real testing. I just need to vacuum the sand out of mine before the next adventure.
Well done, you won't regret the change to disco.
David

Congrats - you will love the D4. I am a complete convert being ex-Nissan & Toyota.
Something to consider if you do decide on the winch:
- If you buy and fit the winch at the sametime as the bar from ARB, it will cost an extra $85.
- But if you buy and have the winch fitted at a date later than the bar fittment, you will be up for the $85 winch fitment charge plus a bar removal & refit charge of about $250-$280.
Top stuff Michael,
I echo everything the other guys have said and I too am an LC100 convert. I've had my D4 since June and there hasn't been a single second of regret. In fact most of time is taken up with a cheesy grin about 200% bigger than this one....
Oh, no regrets except for trying to keep those multi-spoked wheels clean!
Regards,
Ron
re the winch fit - is that just D4? I was told by Opp Lock that they fitted my winch on the D3 (12 months after the ARB bar went on) without having to take the bar off?
cheers
Chris
