Haven't heard anything like that. Where does the sound come from? Is it like the EPB engaging?
Recently my 2007 TDV6 has started to screech when the ignition is switched off. This does not happen everytime but has happened about a dozen times in the last 3 months. Any ideas anyone?

Hi there lovemelr3, my D3 has been making the screeching sound occasionally when I apply the hand brake and then sometimes if I apply the brake, no sound, then as I turn the ignition off the screeching would happen, even if the brake was applied well before turning off. Have just had the car serviced and the hand brake cleaned out and adjusted, no parts, and so far all is fine. Take the path of cleaning and adjusting, especially if you have been off road. If you get a dealer saying you need parts, ignore and see if the procedure works first.
Good luck.

do you mean it squeals after the engine is idle and off of just for second or two after you turn the key?
If its the latter check belt tensions.

My disco does this as well. I think it's just the fan belt slipping
Hi All,
As above, I think that the likely cause is lack of/improper EPB adjustment. However, if it is a fan belt slip, why not fix it?
To check if it is the fan belt, spray some water onto the belt before turning off. If it's the belt, the squeal will disappear. However, if it's the belt tensioner it may still squeal.
Best Wishes.
