Thread: Sydney 2010 Motor Show

Afternoon all,

Weekend just passed i drove up to the Sydney Motor Show with a couple of mates in the D4, as per usual the D4 performed effortlessly even with 3 blokes (at about 100Kg each, luggage, lights & light reading).

Driving along i noticed that the vehicle would occassionaly pull to the left & just thought of the road camber. With contniual persistance i had to fill up with fuel, thought i would check tyre pressures while i was there.
Found that both L/H/S tyres were down to 20psi...? Odd i thought, so filled the front tyre up with some air & checked the valve, all ok, checked as best as i could for a nail & couldnt see anything..Proceeded to the rear one & talking to my friend i could all of a sudden hear a severe hissss. Checked the side wall to see a lump of rubber torn away. Damn, i know where i did this & in due course the tyre started to destroy the side wall to the point it would not hold air. So out came the luggage, & on went the spare....Fun...NOT!

Anyway we arrived into Sydney on Sat at about 17:30 & proceeded to our rented apartment in Kent St.

We went to the show on Monday to view a rather small show, but some interesting things to note...

Firstly this.


This has to be one of the "Uggliest" vehicles i have seen.
I really hate the look of the Japanese vehicles that have that rear section towards the "D" pillar as the window tucks back away from it, leaving a huge blind spot & this odd looking piece metal. Sort of Tarago ish...
It is the new Patrol, To get an idea of how big this is, the rims are 20's with 265/60/20 inch tyres (i think the profile is correct, cant exactly remember). But it is just HUUUUGE..Inside its very boring, just like any Japanese manufacturer.
The engine was a 5.7 litre petrol...yoikes, glunk, glunk, glunk....

Discovery 4 Bull Bar was on Display

The bar was quite well made, It was very bright with all the lights especially being polished Aluminium. It was mounted to an HSE with all the kit, Front park Sensors & Front camera System. It is also compatible with the factoy winch mount.

It was very very nice, The finish looked (from a distance) superb, the interior was also finished to a high standard.
It's presence drew many people to have a look & just do as i did & drool. The color was very regal, nice plain Fuji? White.
Cant wait to drive one.

As per usual many women dressed (or then again just) in extremely tight clothing, or very loose tops to get the attention of the men.
The best i thought was the Mitsubishi Stand, the women were all above 6' & were all dressed in this blue "thing" which could be best described as a ...well i cant really because no words can describe it

Was a good week or so & the food festival in Hyde Park was excellent..
So filling, So much, So many People...
