I had a driver side door seal tear along the crease fairly early in my ownership. No problems since then. Was replaced under warranty.

Just putting this out there to determine whether this is a frequent problem amongst the Discoveries.
I recently had some faulty door seals replaced under warrantee (they had come unstuck) only to have the newly replaced ones also come unstuck within a fortnight of their application.
I have taken this up with the Dealer who fixed the first lot under warrantee and then Landrover Australia when the Dealer refused to supply me with a 3rd set of seals that properly adhered.
Landrover Australia have now also declined to provide a 3rd set of seals because in their view, they acted in accordance with the warrantee provisions and my vehicle warrantee has now expired so their obligation to fix stuff has also expired.
My argument is that if you replace a faulty product with another faulty product then you have not met your obligations under the warrantee.
Anyway...I am now going to take it up with the Office of Fair Trading. But before I do, it occurred to me to ask here if others have had issues with the same product (door seals) as perhaps it is actually a "known issue".
So has anyone esle had issues with the door seals coming unstuck?

Fifi,
That sounds pretty outrageous and I would be very surprised if this position held any water, you can not fix a fault part with a faulty part and suggest this has mitigated your responsibility under warranty simply because the replace fault part failed 2 weeks later being outside the warranty period.
I am sure there would be plenty of lawyers happy to argue that one. Good luck.
As an aside I have not had any issues with door seals.

My 2005 'S' has had a fairly hard life in regard to cosmetic wear and tear, the drivers side seal has been torn but they are still all stuck firmly in place.
A decent dealer would just sort this out even if it took a couple of goes. Their response surprises me.
The funny thing about warranties is that they apply for a period of time, eg. 3 years. If you have a part replaced in warranty, the new part is only warrantied til the end of the warranty. That could be nearly 3 years or a week. So "technically" the dealer is within rights not to fix it under warranty.
In this case, I'm still surprised the dealer just didn't sort it out as a way of retaining a customer which includes potential service and future sales income.

Are they just not adhering to the dooor opening where they slip over the steel?
Should be held in with sticky stuff.
Caver that is exactly what is happenning. The adhesive is not working on the back end of the passenger doors. I guess I could bounce back to Austral and ask them to clean the metal properly and re-stick it with something else. I'm pretty sure they told me that their "services" had a warrantee, just not the product (any more).
I have to go back to them anyway...they fitted new steering rods, racks and 4 new tyres as part of the end of warrantee clean up (tyres were paid for). As part of that they had to do a wheel alignment. When I got the car back it was all over the road...took it back and explained the problem. Seems one of the wheels was out of alignment by 14mm. Is that a lot? I have no idea?
So they fixed that last week. I got the car back and now there is a rattle underneath the back end *sigh*. God knows what that is, but I have already flagged with them that I will be bringing it back in for them to have a 3rd go. Maybe they'll get it right this time???
I have to say, I suspect it is the company they outsource the wheel alignment work to who are not doing a thorough job. But I will have lost 2 days now to-ing and fro-ing that I should not have had to do. No one reimburses me for that time or money. Not to mention the time taking up the issue of the seals. The big question is will I ever give my business to Austral again???
My first service with them was bad. They didn't even bother to clean the air filter even though they told me later that they did that every service. The next time I went back, they were brilliant and I would have been happy to stick with them. Now...well????
Ashes, it surprises me to. You would think they would be proud enough of their brand to want to fix it. But then I have had a week of professionals and other people not living up to expectations so maybe society's norms are changing and I am not keeping up.
I can say now, that this whole experience has taken the shine off my D3. My hubbie and I place a great deal of importance in the after sales service when we purchase a car. Bad service reputation has been a showstopper for cars that we would have otherwise purchased. So this is a real downer as I love/d my D3.
ETA: Apologies for spelling. Just realised I have been spelling warranty wrong right through all my posts. Will correct in future posts *blush*. Too lazy to backtrack now.

Same problem, mine from new on one side. LR fixed it twice under warranty but neither stuck and now they don't want to know about it. In between the 2nd and 3rd seal, they applied glue to fix it which has caused a permanent problem. It's disgracefull.

If the product is faulty you have a statutary warranty. But it sounds like an install issue. It should be stuck down with grey mastic that never teally dries. A lot would be removed when they took the old one off so they should put some more in. Each time it came off it would loose more and so needs to be replaced. Austral need to fix (warrant their work).
smwilk: I see you are from the Gold Coast. Can I ask which dealership you were dealing with re this problem? I don't know whether it's ok to name names, but will (mod can delete if necessary) - I have been going to Austral in Fortitude Valley. I am wondering if it is the same people as you as the response sounds identical.
Caver: Off to google "grey mastic". LOL, I have no idea about these things. But, yes, you could be right - I was assuming the seals came with adhesive strips on them, but perhaps if not, it was the application of the sealant or the sealant itself that is not working. In saying this, I don't want to end up with permanent damage like smwilk has described. That is just appalling! It makes me so angry (even more so because it reminds me that I am middle-aged and care about such things, LOL).
