All D3/D4 owners would also have excess on their insurance and a no-claim bonus which could be lost in a single vehicle accident. Repairing minor damage to a bar might be less than the excess...
The "tough" grades of AL (e.g. 6061-T6 which is a fairly common grade of structural tempered alloy) are also more brittle - i.e. more likely to fracture on impact than bend. Not sure if that would be a good thing.
I am not however anti alloy bars completely, but I would want to know what the bar was made of. TJM don't seem to list the material they use for their bars, but a few other alloy bar manufacturers use 6061-T6.
After the corrosion issues I saw which my alloy bar caused, I would make sure all mating surfaces and fixings were liberally coated with duralac on installation.
