    New D4 Opposite Lock Bullbar

Hi all, just ordered my Opposite Lock steel bullbar today. Around about a 2 week wait. Another well known brand are out of stock until next year. I was also told that this well known brand have some sort of problem with them.
The opposite lock bar caters for front parking sensors as well.
Will post some pics once its fitted.
    Cheers, Craig

Can you give some idea on pricing? Do they offer colour options?

    Thanks

Hi Cameron, answered the pricing query in the 'Alloy Bullbar for D4' thread.
They powdercoat their bars as opposed to painting.
I was told that the colour match will be very close.

Thanks Craig. Hadn't looked at that thread for a while as I want a steel bar rather than alloy. Spoke to OL in Midland today (brother's mate runs it) and have a list of bits and pieces to be fitted, so hopefully will end up with a slightly better pricing.

    Cheers

I've spent a bit of time in the last couple of days, trying to compare the OL bar with the ARB option - and it seems to me there's not much between them. In fact, it appears the two are almost identical in looks and basic design. I've been told the OL bar is also their D3 bar - I presume this must be a new product, as I was told they'd used both a D4 and a D3 when doing the design work (rather than this being an "old" D3 bar that has been modified to fit the D4). I've seen a pic of one fitted to a D3 and it's a good looking unit - VERY like the ARB on a D4.

Apparently the one difference between the two vehicles is that the D4 headlights are not as deep as the D3, and therefore when the bar is fitted to a D4 it comes with 35 mm rubber inserts to close up the gap between the main horizontal section of the bar and the bottom of the headlight unit. I've not seen this, but was told it looks quite neat - that it "blends the bar in with the vehicle". Seems to have room for good sized spotties - and this may be a result of the depth required to cover the D3 light units. LED parkers and indicators, fog light fitment looks very neat, and the whole thing seems a nicely thought out unit - so much so that I've ordered one. Close call - could just as well have gone with the ARB, but liked what I was told about the development and design behind this. I'm getting mine colour-coded (white) and fitment is scheduled for about 10 days time. Can't come quick enough now!

    Jesse,

I was speaking to Simon at OL today and he mentioned that he had just ordered one for someone in Albany. Now I know who. He is adding another one to the order for me. Simon believes they will fit the HSE but is going to confirm for me on Monday.

    Cheers

Cameron - they'll corner a nice new section of the market if they fit HSE's! Good on 'em, I reckon - they deserve it - they've taken an interesting and apparently creative approach in their design work.

    Hi Brick and Jesse,

As the owner of a D4 HSE I'd be keen to learn if the OL bar fits an HSE. As you are asking I would also be grateful if you could cite the weight of the bar. The weight will impact on the Disco's payload.

I will follow up this on the East Coast and see what OL are offering here.

    Cheers

    George
