I tow off-road with the D4/RRS OEM hitch. Never had a problem (although I tow a large van, so maybe not quite as adventurous as we were with the little one).

I've always liked the removable design and the way it protect's my errant shins when I'm walking 'round the vehicle!

    Cheers,

    Gordon

There are 2 that look like a 'J' - one is removable, the other isn't (and I think only available in the UK). The removable one has a large green plastic knob on the side.

Now I'm confused. I thought that the OEM hitch receivers available in Oz were of the 2" square (Hayman Reece type) design. Therefore no "J" in Oz.

    Is this not correct?

    TIA,
    Peter

Sorry, I was referring to the view side on, it looks a little like a 'J'. It is indeed a square reece-hitch type receiver.

    Cheers,

    Hi Everyone,

I use the standard D4 hitch set up and it works fine. I have put about 4000kms on the van (and hitch) without a problem so far. My van is not small at 24'.

I'm going to try to attach a pic again.(At least I would have if I hadn't attached it in another post - I can't attach the same photo twice it seems.)

    Cheers

    George

Has anyone put the 10MY OEM Range Rover Sport hitch and wiring harness on an earlier model.

The 10MY hitch is about $600 with wiring harness whereas the earlier hitch is about $750 plus the wiring harness is about another $250-$300.

    Cheers

The MY10 tow hitch receiver definately will fit not sure if the wiring is different but don't see why it would have changed.

    Hi Guys,
I can't answer for the RRS, but, I believe, the wiring harness for the D3 and D4 is different.

    Best Wishes,
    Peter
