Hi,
I had the same problem when I fitted my wheel carrier. I ended up rotating the outer right sensor and applied beutel tape to the middle two sensors. They were both picking up the tyre. Not a perfect system but at least two work.
Cheers

My search attempts yielded nothing and that's probably because they're rubbish however, as the header says, I'd like to disable one of the rear park sensors.
Today I had fitted a spare wheel carrier that fits on the corner of the rear bumper like the one at: http://attachments.dolium.com.au/pro...g?r=1277178082, and as a consequence, the rear park sensors are continually on. I'm assuming it's the one under the wheel.
I pulled it out and disconnected it which returned a fault sound (I assume). Then I tried to rotate it through a number of angles to see if it would work. Unfortunately, no. My problem is compounded by the fact that I also have a Mitch hitch which limits choice of angles.
Has anyone bypassed the sensor without confusing the system? Oh, btw they're the LR genuine jobbies rather than after-market.
Cheers
Bob

						Hi strudeltoowoomba,
I have the same prob, I removed the senser, (inside right ), when fitting wheel carrier Then spliced the blue wire into the green that go,s to the far right senser ( this is what the instructions told me to do , I think I have the colours mixed up tho, it was a while ago). But still have the problem. I will have to try the tape over the far right senser, if this fixes it I can start rotating it till it works properly again???It do,s get frustrating having to touch the off button every time you reverse!!
Cheers connock
Bobzed57,
I had the same issue with my D3 when I fitted my rear wheel carrier and Mitch Hitch. Ended up getting the dealer to disable the sensors and fitted a reversing camera in the same location as they are mounted on the D4 from the factory.

						SubscriberHi Bobzed,
I have essentially the same combo, a RWC and a Mitch hitch. After stuffing around blanking off part and full sensors, I found the only sensor I had to block was the middle/rh. The most effective method of blanking the sensor out, is a self adhesive rubber dot. I think they are marketed as furniture anti scuff pads. ( Bunnings ) It would seem the sensor has to be blocked out with something opaque, that will not let any light whatsoever into the sensor. Most of the other tapes etc I tried, the sensor was still detecting through the tape.
My sensors work fine with no alarms/lights, but I do note a reduced coverage to the rear when reversing. Even one sensor off has quite a large impact on the overall setup. I will ultimately look at a camera. I find with the RWC and a cargo barrier, the rear vision is pretty much compromised. I am always rubber necking when in reverse, and even then the blind spots are huge.
Hope this helps
Neil

This is for a d3 [ame="http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220683539624&ssPageNam e=STRK:MEWAX:IT"]camera for reversing[/ame]. Looks a lot better than the one fitted with my VMS GPS. Let you ladies and gents know how it goes once it arrives!!

THis thread explains my cheap and cheerful method.
