    Hi Richard,
I'll come around when I get back, mid Jan (ish). I'm not sure if you use the Exploroz site but you'll be able to see my progress, I got one of the GSM tracker software gizmos on my phone. You know my tags. Thanks for the offer. All the best.

Agree with you about the main serpentine belt but the fuel pump belt came with the adjuster mechanism in a kit, and the adjuster has a "special" locking pin in place to make the replacement easier. I've bought them now, if either belt breaks the price I paid will seem cheap, at least I have the right ones, the price did hurt..... I admit that.
Sorry mate,Td6 not TDV6,mines BMW yours is Ford,LR,PSA. Pat

Fuel pump belt, you will need 'small child hands', a mirror, torch and oodles of patience. Did I mention the 'small child hands' ??? I lost quite a bit of skin and several years off my life the first one I replaced

These are a necessary job at 120 to 140K, or 5 to 6 years max. The serpentine belt and cambelt by comparison are a cinch.

    Good luck.

The parts to do all the belts have arrived from UK, including a new oil pump with the beefed up webbing to support the belt idler. Picked up the special timing tools for $15. Planning this job next rainy day

Are there any tricks or tutorials on the fuel pump belt change out? The Topix instructions are pretty straight forward, but looking at the confined access to the back of the motor will need skin grafts. (like Justinc)

Here is a guide with pictures:

Good luck with doing them, a word of warming if you feel you may break something when trying to undo the rear tensioner bolt. Don't do it! if your break this bolt it is a body off job to fix it.
This belt at worse can be left until a body off job comes along for something else. If it breaks it will not stuff your engine, it will just stop.

    Cheers Rich
