Tombie, BMKal,
You boys are making me feel guilty!
But I've been too busy out using mine to be home washing it :D

But I did enjoy the two full days cleaning the Jackson Pollock stylings.
It's a beautiful thing seeing it bright & shiny again after a big trip.
Cheers,
Scott
Hey Scott.

First trip out, went to the farm this weekend.
Baptism presents all round, first gift Highway Pootrol, second Suicide Roo (ran into side cracking drivers side flare)
Absolutely Loved the first long country road drive, I'm wishing I had bought one sooner, absolute heaven to drive. Soaked up corrugations and cattle grids like they weren't even there, where my previous Defenders just shook to bits.
I could go on for ever about the comfort but let's get some pics happening :)

Those photos might not look much but that little step I'm climbing is on the side of a mountain so it's already leaning, I tried many times to get the Defender over this but each time it went to tipping point and I gave up. The Discovery felt so much more stable and climbed up and over with the front passenger wheel getting some air. (It got a lot more air after the photo)

Out of curiosity does anyone know why the LED daytime running lights flash/blink when you look through a camera but look like a solid light normally ❓

They do blink Babs,I have a pic of ours blinking on the beach at Horrocks.2 D4s with different LEDs showing at once.
Andrew
Did you have the vehicle in Low Range for your articulation tests?
The DRLs flash as they are driven by a PWM signal as the way to control brightness - it's easier to flash LEDs faster or slower than it is to adjust voltage to dim them, so a pulsing signal is used. The reason they blink on videos or camera screens is because the refresh rate/capture rate is not synchronised with the PWM and you see the "off" cycle every now and then.
LED info, insightful, thank you :)
Yes I had it in Rock Crawl mode for the articulated testing.
Another thing I forgot to mention was how happy I was with the tyres (over to the Maxxis 19" thread)
And I'm glad I didn't give in to the hype of the Compo 18" rims, I am convinced now with some minor testing that a 19" setup is fine (well I speak for myself, for what I want to do with it). Farm duties, touring, corrugations and cattle grids a big thumbs up :)

Hi all. Just bought this second hand disco4. TDV6 HSE in Galway Green with Almond Leather. Optioned up with the sunroof. Loving it so far. Gave it some love with paint correction and paint protection first up. I also decluttered it by removing the optional door moulds and cutting down some of the rear badging. I doubt this will be swing much off road use but I look forward to the road trips- so comfy!
A few things i am trying to sort out so no doubt you will see me around here a bit!
