A couple of pictures from our Easter trip to the Goldfields, the first at the start of the Goldfields Pipeline, Mundaring Weir, the second at the Ora Banda pub (with not a bikie in sight). Our TDV6 HSE wearing the 17" rims with Bridgestone Dueller D694s. 3,300 km in 12 days, 1,500 on dirt roads, tracks and sand, no punctures
I've been on the path for a while with a few softroaders. An Outback followed by a Volvo XC90 which was meant to be a family mover, but ended up crossing Big Red and doing all of Abercrombie NP near Oberon. Decided to get a real 4WD and couldn't go past the D4 for capability and versatility. Still I have ended up modding the D4 way past being very versatile!
ARB front bar with Warn winch and IPF lights, Kaymar dual wheel rear bar, LongRanger 104L aux tank, Black Widow drawers, barrier and dividers, Front Runner roof rack with ladder, ARB awning, Hannibal Rooftop Tent, GME UHF, Sat phone, TPMS, second set of wheels with GY MTRs, 82 L water tank with filter system and 12v pump, aux battery system, HiLIf Jack, pure sine wave inverter, compressor.
Turned my versatile 7 seater into a 2 seat outback warrior.
Love it...
Have had a couple of Discoverys over the years for towing the horses around. First was a D1 V8 which we loved and had from new in 1995 to 2007. Replaced it with a Prado which was good but longed for another Land Rover so purchased a new D4 SDV6 SE in Jan2011 along with a new horse float. Still smiling after 5 months and 14k kms.
