Took the big plunge - Discovery TDV6 2014
Well after looking at this site for a few weeks and speaking to random passionate Discovery owners in the street or carparks (gosh it is hard to get away from some guys once you ask a question or two) we did it! We bought a basically brand new TDV6 with a compliance plate of 12/14, so we got a bit off the normal RRP.
Attached is a picture of what it looks like right now, but when we pick it up in a couple of weeks, it will have a black triple loop bull bar from Opposite Lock, a single rear wheel carrier and a 110 ltr long range fuel tank. Those side steps will be removed.
We are very happy with the purchase and can't believe how quite and smooth the ride is. It accelerates like a modern sedan - so no more waiting for a gap in the traffic of 2 kms or so. The engine revs at just 1,600 rpm doing 110 kph, whereas our 4.2 ltr Patrol would be at 2,100 rpm at that speed. I guess that is the benefit of the 8 speed gearbox on the Discovery.
Looking forward to trying it out towing our van and doing some 4wding

Finally upgraded from the Patrol to a Disco. Wow, what an improvement.
A recent camping trip to Inksip.
