Fitted a Foxwing awning this weekend:

It gives a good area of shelter, yes I've been warned about making sure it's well secured down!

Had one for a while, great bit of kit.
Time flies,as i had it on the D2 so mine is well over 5 yrs old, bought in 2009
Will handle the roughest of roads as well.:)
Yes be VERY careful with it in windy weather, don't ask me how i know:mad:
But parts are easy to get and is an easy fix.
Great in wet weather
Have fun:)
Not just the Foxwing that you need to be careful securing down. ;)
I know of a certain Ironman awning that got airborne over the top of a D4 in gusty conditions at Melrose recently.

Didn't bend it out of shape too much, and it all straightened pretty easily with a pair of multi-grips and a small hammer when I got it home. ;)
We went for the Rapid-Wing by SupaPeg same goes for this awning also

Just made up some LED lights for mounting in the awning, the Rapid- Wing has a sail track on it, so we made some canvas strips and sewed 3M clip lock to it to mount the LED strips

Handled everything really well ... except the greasy clay after the showers that were around today. AT's are not much good in that stuff.

Barry, I'm never not going to turn off DSC!
Much better with it off, too many times did it rob me of power when I needed it.
And I dropped tyre pressure down to 18 front 20 rear, I should of gone lower to 15 front 17 rear for more grip.
My sliders never have been delt such punishment as they did on the weekend. I think every vehicle had some sort of scrapes or damage done, epic trail thought A+ at the moment.
Better photo's to come.
Camping in Tibooburra.
Regards
Gerald
Thought I'd post a photo of my first beach run with my D3

Just got back from a few weeks in central Australia with my almost stock D4. Did not miss a beat, and that was with 6000km's driven, hundreds of km's of dirt, corrugations and rough stuff. Learnt a lot about the car and what I need to do to improve it in the future.
This was taken heading into Palm Valley in the Finke Gorge National Park.
