    Some additions

Well I have just added a few things to the D3:

First a proper bull bar to replace the plastic Land Rover nudge bar thing. I think it is a major improvement

Next, you can just see it under the car, 92 litre gravity feed auxiliary fuel tank from Opposite Lock

And finally got the cargo barrier, I bought from Geedublya over a year ago, installed.

I also installed LLAMS a couple of weeks ago. Switch is in usual place on a D3 so I didn't bother to take a picture.

There is an Optima D34 sitting in the garage waiting for the arrival of a Traxide kit (which will hopefully be on Monday). That will give something to do over Easter.

    Cheers
    Mike

Yeap... wonderful to see another (weird?) LR driver at Talbotville (you were the only one I saw in the 2 weeks). Did you get any D3 action shots from your drone (quadcopter)? also a very impressive bit of kit!

Explored the west side this trip... beautiful scenery, fabulous tracks... can't wait to be back.

Note to self: Need to take lots of pretty pictures with the D4 in frame

We were lucky enough to have all of Feb off, so went on a bit of a trip (Sydney, Wagga, Mungo National Park, Adelaide, Kangaroo Island, Eyre Peninsula, then followed the coast back to Sydney).

The D4 was just amazing, never skipped a beat and did everything with ease.

    Great photos.
What roof rack is that and is it the standard width? Looks very nice at that height and width.

The roof rack is the Front Runner Slimline II, the 3/4 length version, standard width. It is an absolute gem.

I did have to put a piece of carpeted aluminium across the centre to stop the horrific resonating noise it would make (at least to my ears) - see photos below.

The table which slots underneath is a gem too.

We were parked close to that same sign at Kimba a couple of weeks ago, on our way back across from Tassie ...........................

Doesn't look like you have the wind deflector fitted under the front of your roof rack. I have the full length version of the same rack (also with the table underneath it), and it came with a steel wind deflector which bolts under the front of the rack - I'm told that they can be quite noisy without this. (The black thing under the wind deflector between the front support legs is an LED light bar - it has added a bit to the wind noise level, but not too bad).

With the table, one thing that I found out the hard way is that it can be quite painful if your fingers are in the wrong place when you slide the table back in under the rack. I have addressed this by fitting a stainless steel bathroom towel rail from Bunnings to each end of the table. They provide for a good handle, and SWMBO loves them as it gives her somewhere to hang the tea towels.

I've also found that by turning my awning mounting brackets upside down and mounting them under the bottom of the rack so that the awning sits below the level of the roof rack, the wind noise is a lot less. Also seems a lot better when using the awning in lousy weather too, as there is much less "gap" between the awning and the roof of the vehicle.

    Cheers .........

    Thanks for the feedback BMKal.

I do have the Wind Deflector on, and whilst yes it does make a difference, I still found the rack too noisy. The Wind deflector would reduce the wind noise, the noise I heard sounded more like the cross bars resonating.

Re the handle - I saw that you did that on another post and outright copied it. Makes a massive difference. Thank you.

Re the awning mounting - I played around with this for a while, trying a few different brackets. Because I've got the foxwing awning (which wraps around), I need to have the awning high enough to clear the ladder when the tail gate is open. I ended up using 3 x Gal L Shape brackets from the hardware to do the job. Day to day I pull the awning down and it only takes a few minutes to install again.

Here we go the last mod (for a while anyway)
    Traxide USI-160 dual battery kit

New power outlet driver's side rear

The in cab switch location, seems to work quite well here

And finally (cos it didn't happen without pics) a pic of the LLAMS switch, which is in the usual place for a D3

Now I am able to run the fridge without having to carry an Arkpak, will give me more room and probably save my back.
All ready now for ANZAC Day weekend at Lower Taylors Arm.

    Cheers
    Mike
