My wife & I went back to the Gold Coast for Xmas...see the children etc and we decided to go to Bribie for the day.

So we went up the inland track & came back along the beach, was our first time on the beach in the Discovery & compared to our previous 4x4's, well there's no comparison. I was just amazed at how easily it did everything.

Anyway a few pic's of the day.

Beautiful colour! Much more interesting than the stock standard white ones IMO.

For context, SWMBO wants to buy a Jeep Wrangler and is totally convinced that it will destroy the D3 offroad in stock form...

    Our new D3

Hi all, we have just picked up and driven our new 2005 D3 SE from Sydney to Brisbane, it will be my wife's car for the most part, as she says I have enough other cars, a 2011 Defender 110, a 1996 Discovery Tdi and a U1250 Unimog.

We will be putting on a satin black D4 style grill, D4 tail lights, removing the amber lenses form the headlight, colour coding the bumpers/wheel arches etc, dark tinted windows and getting the 20" wheel powder coated satin black. She wants it to be a "civilised one" so that is all I am allowed to do

Change over the side blinkers too.

They look pretty good for a 10yr old 4wd.

    Talking about very tidy.
When leaving Albany yesterday, there were roadworks 20km up the road,a new overtaking lane going in.
In Fulton Hogans lay down area there was a white RRS with all the gear including a colour coded bull bar,it looked a million bucks.
Must have been the grader steerers,he would be the only one on the crew paid enough to own one
