At panel beater. All ok (not roo) and passenger airbag went off. There's an experience! Insurance just paid for itself. I only had car a week! At least we get a new windscreen.

Have battery and cables and traxide for the dual battery and redraw tow pro elite to go in.
I did the exact same thing 2 years ago to a D3, it was a write off as it was a cheaper car and the airbags are $7000

    Finally on the road

New (ish) addition... Bought from WA back in March, shipped to me late April, has taken until yesterday to sort out some minor issues (cracked RH valve cover, bung thermostat, leaking 'bags, and a hundred minor issues) and get the RWC squared away. So off to rego yesterday and driving it today Marvellous. Proper engine with eight cylinders (and hairdryers) and with Brembos to counter that as it should be.... Part of the delay was giving it a proper pull-through and upgrading to steel sump pan, changing all fluids, flushing cooling system, silicone turbo hoses, EGR full removal, gas-struts, etc.

For anyone wondering about the difference visually in 22 and 19 inch wheels, here's your answer. 285/35R22 on the front and 255/55R19s on the back (basically same outer diameter (~Ø760/30"), so it's all wheel). Vehicle came with the 22s as it was a city car for a well-to-do professional. It never saw anything more arduous than a shallow puddle. Plan was to fit 18s (Compomotives) but they have been somewhat.... delayed... repeatedly. Hence getting a set of D4 19s and wrapping them in GY Duratracs for now. When (if) the Compos finally arrive I'll move the D4 alloys on. And I'll put the 22s up in the Marketplace soon as currently they are just taking up shed space.

I've got the full suite of APT under-protection waiting in boxes to go under it, and a set of GoE sliders that (finally) arrived Monday... Tradesman alloy oval roof-rack, LLAMS, Mitch-Hitch, GME CB, and Traxide dual battery kit all ready to go in/on/behind/over as soon as time allows. Forum sticker was the first addition

I think the SatNav file is ancient, anyone know how to check the date/version of what's in there?

Here’s my 2005 D3 HSE V8 which I’ve now had for 12 months. I’ve had the front lower control arms changed, new radiator, injector 1 replaced due to a misfire, put the tranny pan in and had the transmission serviced. With some stuffing around I’ve managed to get the Outback Accessories long range fuel tank fitted, so I had to get a rear wheel carrier which is the OA version which I opted for so it wouldn’t obscure my after market reversing camera. I’ve had the front runner ladder installed so I can access the tray easily which I leave on the roof. I’m loving it so far Show us your Disco / Sport! - PLEASE READ FIRST POST, FIRST.

Looks great, Randy! You’ve done the two mods that are on the top of my to-do list: long-range tank and rear bar. I gotta say, though, the Front Runner ladder is pretty appealing too!

I’m stuck trying to decide between the Kaymar and the OA bar, with a slight preference for the OA as it’ll let me use the factory reversing sensors. Do you have any insights? What was installation of the OA bar like? Did you think about the Kaymar? How is life with the OA bar now you’ve got it installed?

    Cheers,

    — Andrew

Isn’t the Kaymar a full rear bumper replacement? I’m happy with the OA as it doesn’t obstruct my rear view camera. Cons is that it obstructs the RHS rear lights but that’s lower priority for me. I think the Frontrunner bar looks better positioned but it would have obstructed my rear camera which is a priority for me as I have small children. The OA is very well constructed and easy to operate, my wife is happy enough to use it. I wouldn’t get a full rear bar as I am thinking of weight and it would eat into payload which I need on long trips. The factory sensor that is displaced by the OA bar is a bit hit and miss because it’s now slightly angled. I’m going to play around with deactivating it by putting a furniture pad on it.
