I'd only get a bar so I could fit a winch.
A winch would be a handy thing.
Winches are a bigger topic than bars.
If there was a way to fit a winch without fitting a bar that'd be really useful.
    Thanks, that’s useful.

Btw you can get a winch without a bar, google hidden winch kit for discovery 4 - there is room behind the bumper and the end result looks awesome!

We picked up our Disco 3 yesterday and brought it home. Now to get it caravan ready!
Can anyone tell me how much they paid to have their windows tinted? Think that’ll be job number 1!

The rack has proven to be a problem. Terrible vibration and noise between 55-70 km's and also really bad vibration at different times depending on direction of wind (guessing it's the different wind direction as there seem no consistency in when it occurs when on the highway at 100+ Km/h) will need to work it out as it's not bearable as it is.

Did your Front Runner rack come with the under-slung wind deflector. I have found that running without this, the rack was very noisy, but with it installed, the noise level is almost non-existent. The noisiest thing on mine is the LED bar that I have mounted under this wind deflector between the two front support legs. I also have the stainless steel & aluminium frame camping table and slides under the rear section of my Front Runner rack - but I don't remember any change in noise levels when I installed this either.

Under-slung wind deflector should look like this (is a standard Front Runner part and in my case, came with the rack). Third photo shows camping table under the rear end of the roof rack.

Interesting, I have full length Front Runner Slimline II rack and the deflector that came with it is different, sort of two angled pieces that come to a point and hang right off the front.
The wind noise is quite loud though, I might experiment with them off.
I see they now have a different one again?

As a follow up from my post and a belated reply to BMKal. I found a wind deflector locally and was going to fit. However, I fitted the LED bar that came with the rack to see what effect that had. It has stopped all the rack wind noise and vibration. There is now just a bit of tolerable wind noise from the LED. Will just need to wire up the bar now so I'm not just a tool with an LED for looks....
