    Another One Bites The Bullet

Well after giving some of you blokes in this group a bit of curry on the odd occassion I have decided to join the D3/D4/RRS ranks with the recent purchase of a D3 ...and what a lovelly bit of gear it is to.

Primarilly I have gone down this path to have a good comfortable tow vehicle for our off road caravan as the D2a was struggling as many of you who have read from my previous posts and questions.

For now the good old D1 will still be the serious off road wagon though. So I'll just have to rely on the off road software that a D1 comes with to get me around.

    cheers,
    Terry

    Hi Terry,
Good to hear that you chose a real 4WD.
The more you drive it, the more you will like it. Its the LR bug.

    Cheers, Craig

Thank you both Craig and Connock

...As for choosing a real 4WD, both the D1 and D2a have proven to be pretty good 4WD's as well I would have to say.

In actual fact I think few D3/4's would be able to go with confidence were the old girl can when the going gets really rough.
As for the D2a well that is still a lovely car to drive and is more then capable off road and it eats up highway miles in comfort like few 4b's of its generation can.

    cheers,
    Terry

Well done Terry! You will find the D3 is an amazing highway eater - and you will arrive as fresh as when you left.

You will also be pleasantly surprised how well the D3 does offroad.

    Cheers,
    Rob

Someone has to be brave around here Dave ...seriously the D3/4 area can be a scary place to visit some days.

Re running an event up in Queensland, unfortunately not this year, but the plan is to take a round of the series back up to QLD raceway in 2012.

    Well done Terry,

Having done the same thing recently myself can understand the decision.

The only thing I need to do now, is get the wife out of the D3 long enough so I can actually have a drive.

May have to buy a D1 or defender so I have a landie to drive again..

Goodluck with the new wheels, an awesome machine thats for sure..

    Cheers Ean
