    Auto Trans

Just had my auto transmission fitted with the steel pan and new fluid etc by AutoMac in Myaree, $620 runs like a dream, much smoother and shifts back to barely noticeable.

Hi Richard, Yes they do good work there, that's where i had mine done. Not sure why but it cost me $825.00????? Anyway auto feels heaps better after the change. I've been told that with the faultmate you can delete the learned setting and reset to the factory default settings and the changes get even smoother, amazing really as they are dam smooth after the service.
    cheers

Hi Caver, no they talked me out of the flush, i was told that it wasn't necesary unless you are starting to have serious problems with the auto. However following your advice i made sure they used the correct ZF oil, they are after all the ZF agents here in Perth. I think they may have done a full service though now that i think about it. Not sure what that would invove on a gearbox that is supposed "sealed for life"

Mine was the single flush with the ZF oil

The bill was $665 not $620.

    Steel pan kit $350
    8 litres Lifeguard 6 Fluid $210
    Harness plug sleeve $20
    Labour 1 hour $85

    I am happy with that.

Maybe that they have got the labour time down now that they have done a few.
As it was I had oil leaks on my driveway so I took it back and they replaced a faulty pan gasket - no charge

Does the RRS use the same auto transmission as the D3?
