Just pay a subscription and look it up on TOPIX - that's where I sourced the info regarding the injectors, so "straight from the horse's mouth".
I'm not sure that BilboBaggins isn't making this more complex than it needs to be. No, you cannot retune a D4 TDV6 such that it will be _exactly_ like an SDV6. The differences in the injectors and the various software differences in more than one module make that impossible.
You can remap or chip a TDV6 - how similar to an SDV6 you can make it obviously depends on the chip or remap. So stop worrying about the differences in the two and concentrate on the claims and real-world testing of the various remappers and chip retailers

Thank-you for the heads up related to TOPIx... I have just applied to the forum, have i complicated matters? in the name of understanding , yeh probably.... I suppose you just take anyones word on anything without having to prove it to yourself???? Yeh lets just all be sheep... Sorry if you think getting accurate information is complicated , Ill make sure not to use this forum for information as it was intended.... come on really?!!!
I never claimed to be correct or logical with relation to my search..... i just wanted some proof relating to a question. While at this point you seem to be the one with the most information(resources) you also accuse me of complicating matters, that's just unnecessary, i thought this forum was for us to all share info for the common good?
i had more questions relating to this TOPIx website but am reluctant to ask.... that just sucks,
thanks to all who tried to help
Best regards
Bill
Sigh ..... sometimes trying to help people (for free) is quite er, trying, in itself. I'll give up at this point.
Gordon
FWIW Sorry to upset you!!! that wasn't my intention.
Well chaps,
I did look up the TOPIx website and payed for a subscription as Gordon suggested (nice one Gordon), unfortunately I was unable to find the answers I was looking for. I did look up the 8 speed ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS- DIESEL... As far as i can see there is only one ECM(ENGINE CONTROL MODULE) its coded (D131) on the TOPIx website, from what i can see there is only one unit, there is no mention or indication of hardware differences between hi powered models or not(commercial)... so im guessing that the ECM is the same across the board, likely the firmware is the difference as fellow forum members have mentioned....
Fuel injector codes range from the codes (T-172)-(T177) Again showing no variation or even indication of different part numbers... here is the dilemma... I believe what Gordon said relating to differences in the injectors, low flow and all however the documentation I have obtained show no such differences.... I'm thinking maybe its changed(i wish) on the new model, and landrover just made the same engine across the board along with this new 8 speed transmission, either way I'm still unable to get a clear answer on this topic.....
Im still looking for answers, i will not rest until this is cleared/proven once and for all....(yes I suffer from OCD)
hey Gordon sorry again if ****ed you right off , I was being a b_tch!!!
Cheers
Bill
BTW: I Have electrical schematics:

If anybody wants any of this info please let me know cheershttps://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/im...016/06/138.jpg
Try asking Land Rover Tech in the UK.
In either the overview or introductory section TOPIX states:
"Two variants of fuel injector are installed on the 3.0 TDV6 engine, 155kW vehicles have a unique low flow fuel injector installed. Injectors should not be swapped between 155kW and 188kW engines due to the injector nozzles being different. Low flow fuel injector nozzles are not capable of sufficient fuel supply to the 188kW engine."
I haven't got the whole document so can't point you to the specific section, and am not going to log onto TOPIX just for this.
Cheers,
Gordon
I'm friends with an engine tuner specializing in land Rovers.
The short answer - NO.
The 'commercial' 3.0 can NOT be made to be the 'SDV6'
But you can still improve its output.
It just can't be improved as much as a SDV6 version.
