Doesn't the NZ SuperChips dealer come over to the East Coast occasionally to do remaps?

    Cheers,

    hey Tombie

Where could i get it cloned? Dont i have to send it to BAS to do that as well???? I have discussed that option with him via email.... his response was" i will still need your original ECM... so again i'm stuffed, unless of course there is someone down here who can clone my ECU??? as each ECU is coded to each individual vehicle it would need to be done by coded by landrover....(or mr BAS )

BTW where can i get an ECU??? would i go straight to landrover? or is there someone who has access directly from Bosch?(manufacturer)..You see Tombie the process gets complicated unless i'm not informed correctly. i can only go by what the professionals say.... that's why i thought a chip would be easier, while im not saying its better, just more convenient at this point? there are so many unknowns/variables...

Im not saying i wouldn't go down that path, i almost want to do it just to satify my curiousity, but that would be borderline stupid on my part, but as you can probably tell it wouldn't be the first time i did something ilogical!!!!

Looks like there is a Superchips vendor in Melbourne that does it.

    Cheers,

Just looked on Google Maps - they're about 3km from your suburb!

    First question to Ask...

    What is "BlueFin enabled"?

Can this then be found by LR?

If so, game over on engine warranty...

    Right on Tombie

BLUFIN enabled ? yes i did read that word on their website!!! ok heres the story so far - a place called "Tigersoft perfomance " do this...can you believe this walking distance from my place, I'll go past and see the guy in the person to talk about these issues you mention Tombie. another reason i think a chip would be better....

Fellow forumites: just wandering can you tell me what option is better for overall smooth operation of the vehicle????... someone i cant recall mentioned that a add on chip is a slightly neanderthal way of boosting up power...as i understand it a chip boosts rail pressure, air intake, and injection timing(not sure)? does a re-flash have advantages over the chip, does it control other things i'm not aware off, i really was hoping maybe someone could shed some light on this topic, my knowledge is quite limited....

As always i want to learn from others experience rather than make a mistake

    cheers

My broadacre tractor is a detuned version which was sold at a significantly reduced price to the full power version. The only engine difference is that the fuel pump is set to a lower maximum fuel output which is easily adjusted by any fuel injection service. A lower power again version has lower capacity injectors, a lower capacity fuel pump and a different turbo so it cannot be tuned to the full power version. Mine will be retuned to full power when the pump needs an overhaul to get the extra torque and associated lower fuel consumption. All 3 versions have the same drive-train.

    Hi Graehme

when you say tractor , do you mean like farming tractor? I assume the point your making is that with a few tweaks , the power should be able to be brought up to the same power spec? and that you believe the discovery 4 should be in a similar position?

BLUFIN ENABLED means its opened up and the encription can then be bypassed so that the bluefin interface module can be used to re-flash the ECM.... yes its detectable and has a counter that clicks over every time a re-flash is done..... BYE BYE WARRANTY!!!!

I asked the guy from tiger perfomance, $250 to break encryption and $600 for the module that re-flashes

after talking to the guy he told me the differences between the 2 one tricks the computer , one becomes the computer, same result..... your thoughts everyone!!!

if it was undetectable id go a re-flash for sure????? mmmmhhhhhh

no idea? If i buy today i get the reduced price.... if i buy tomorrow the price goes up $150
