    Fitted

    Finally finished.
    _DSC3655_R.jpg

Spent most of today stuffing around with the gaps. A mm here, ends up 5mm there. In the end I lost it and loosened it all up and started from scratch. Could only get the lower pin bolts in. I'll need an angle drill for the other two as the winch is in the way.

I'm happy the end result. A big thank you to all those that have helped with info, pics and advice!

    Suspension airlines - check

For those that have fitted, or will be fitting the ARB Summit bar, it might pay to check where the front air suspension lines run through the drivers side bar mount to the suspension solenoid. Whilst they are not sharp edges, the lines don't sit freely anymore and vibration/rubbing may cause the lines to wear through. I wrapped them in spiral wrap, but a bit of edge protection (pinch weld or similar) may be better.

Great work, did you also using ARB Winch installation kits to fit Runva winch? Any thing else you need to fit the winch?

Mungus are you going to remove the wireless transmitter? It's mentioned in the instructions that it's not 100% waterproof.. For the odd occasion I'm going to use it i might just use the cable. Anyway instead of using the isolator they provide i ended up disconnecting the + terminal until required. Not sure what you plan on doing...

That looks good. The color matching definitely suits your Disco, and the finish on the bar looks really well done.

I gather they have fitted after-market fog lights, as they look significantly larger than the OEM lights that were re-fitted into my older version ARB bar.

Now all you need is a decent pair of driving lights to make the front end look very business-like.
    Cheers .........

    That's a bit concerning...

Are you saying the kit didn't have the spiral wrap that's supposed to be including in it? My bar fitting kit came with the spiral wrap and instructions on its use...

Or did you pay for install and they didn't fit it?

Also does this look right, the Runva rope protector plate (I'm sure there's a special name for it) looks like it's sitting a little low, maybe not compatible with the ARB Bar?

Hi, Babs. Do you know if you have to get it from authorised dealer of Runva winch in order to qualify the limited lifetime warranty? also do you need to serviced by the dealer? or installed by the dealer?

    Cheers,

I originally fitted it to the recessed plate using the Runva supplied bracket, _DSC3629_R.JPG but didn't like it _DSC3635_R.jpg (see post 427), so I mounted it direct to the cover plate.

See post 440 for the spacer kit and hinged plate bracket. Those are the
    only two bits you need.

I will be installing an isolator, purely because of the wireless unit and chance of malfunction. I have a spot on the sidewall behind the passenger headlight where it will fit along side the ARB twin compressor, but will wait for Traxide kit to arrive in a week or so before any permanent install. With the wireless unit I sealed around the plastic box join and either side of the wire entries. I now deem it water resistant/proof.

Yes, ARB Fog light kit is needed. The OEM lights do not fit this bar, contrary to what their website states. You don't need the Fog Light loom kit they insisted I needed, "as the OEM lights are a LOW 50W". Theirs are 51W, so I think the loom will handle that extra power. You also need their 'Bullet Adaptor kit' as the OEM light plugs clip on the sides, whereas the ARB lights fasten on the top. Cut off OEM plug, solder on the adaptor bullet wires, heat shrink, tape and all's good and secure.
I think Frylyts for xmas maybe

No mention of it in the fitting instructions and nothing in the fitting kit. Oh and no I didn't pay for the install; "I got in touch with my vehicle", as a wise man once said and did it all by myself. Well... with the help of my second favourite piece of plant. _DSC3654_R.jpg

Ahh that;s right you're putting the Aux battery on the drivers side... That will give you some more room. Only downside to that winch cable, we're stuck with the piece outside the fairlead.....
