They didn't charge you GST or postage

Did you get the right fuel filter for your engine?? The pre 07 TDV6s have a fuel filter that looks like most diesel fuel filters - aluminium case - pipes in and out of the top. 07 on has a fuel filter that looks something like a screw in oil filter and does screw in.

I know because I bought a Cooper filter locally and it was the former when I needed the latter - the Cooper book only has the one listing for the TDV6.

Thankfully 4x4 have two different kits for the TDV6.

Funny you should mention that garrycol .The original Egay add said "2006 on" .So I queried that saying that my TDV6 took the early model filter 2005/6 . They replied saying that the Kit was definately for the 2005/6 models only due to the fuel filter . They since went into their add and changed it to reflect that .

    Fuel Filter $ 90
    Pollen Filter $ 40
    Air Filter if required $40
    Oil $100
    Bits and pieces $10-$20

On the price you were charged I would be concerned that they left things out of the service.

2.5 hrs labour seems along time to do just a oil & filter change, which I am assuming is all that was done.

This could be where the cost's are so different, as I am sure L/R has a base time/service that all dealers use. The independants may cut that down, hence the viariation in prices.

    Just a thought.
