Thread: Miners Mate Mechanical in Mt Isa ? ?

Gday...

I am heading toward Mt Isa (a few weeks away at the moment) and looking at having a minor service (mainly engine oil & filter) while I am there.

The D3 is purring like a kitten but I would prefer to have it done by 'someone' who knows D3s as they could give it a quick check and know what they are looking at.

I have located a repairer purporting to be Land Rover savvy - Miners Mate Mechanical - does anyone have any knowledge of this firm??

There is no dealer or dedicated Land Rover service center in Mt Isa.
The 2 major 4WD dealerships in town do not have good reputations.
There are a couple of good diesel mechanics but they do not have the proper diagnostic gear, just scan tools.
Miners Mate Mechanical in Marion St aren't bad but are always busy.
I drive to Townsville or Cairns for my services, there is also a dealer in the Alice though I haven't used them yet.
The Townsville mob a pretty good, the Cairns lot seem better than they used to be.
