TerryO...you are aware you can do all that with the poverty pack stereo in the D4.

My pathetic motorola phone when paired with the D4 via bluetooth shows the phone book (with names) as well as recient call lists and redial etc...an the stereo display.

Would be interesting to see a pic of your mates one, and how they actually fitted it in the dash.

He said with the Parrot hands free that your phones phone book comes up on the screen and you can scan through the numbers on the stereo screen and select who you want to call or something like that. This might be nothing out of the norm with new aftermarket stereo's, that I'm not sure of.

One thing I do know is if I can only find a way of stopping him raving on about the bloody Clarion that would be good.

    cheers,

That's true Weird Al, my iPhone 4 connects via blue tooth & also displays all info. But that's the other thing, I'm not one to just throw myself in the sh1te but is that necessary, I'm sure just about everyone has a contact or two that could cause an argument..

Now here is some of my ideas...

Firstly I need to see what's going on back there, I need to know how the CD player is integrated with the basic head unit. I then need to find out if there is a rear AUX input as well as the 3.5mm jack. I then need to see how easy it is going to be to relocate the ome screen into maybe the top glove box. I'd also like to find out 100% if the FL2 & LR3 iPod integration kit will work with LR4 steering wheel controls if frankenstined into the loom..

So.. With this, I'm reasonably happy with the audio quality of the OME stereo, all the controls work & the phone works fine too. What I propose is to tap into the AUX input at the rear of the unit & the constant v+ & power v+. Connect it to one of the many iPod integration leads available & run it back to the cubby box. It will still be controlled via the iPod / iPhone but will also work with the OEM unit & be neater.

Need sat/nav? This is the tricky but good part. Move the factory screen screen somewhere & install a sat/nav a/v screen, I've found a nice alpine unit that would work. Keep the factory stereo installed, attach iPod, rear camera, steering wheel module, nav & any other accessory you like to this screen & use the pre-out to connect to the AUX in. You'd have all you'd need with a reasonably good sound at a third of the price of the Logic 7 system.

    Hi Robocop,

Every time you use the term "OME", I think you actually mean/want OEM which is Original Equipment Manufacturer(or in other words "factory/original").

Sorry to be picky, but I'm a detail person, and it makes you look like a goose to some ...

    Regards,

    Les.

I'm not following what you mean about OME.. There's nothing wrong with the 'povo pack' factory stereo, I hate wires dangling around everywhere & always wanted iPod integration like I had in my Freelander 2. My D4 was floor stock & ready to go so I had no choice in which audio package it came with.

Is anyone aware if the factory 'Premium Audio' unit and/or the Logic 7 are MOST compatible?

Located the HK amp under the drivers seat today & took pics. Pulled out the cup holders & located the AUX harness cig lighter harness & another 2 pin plug, looks like it's a switch? Can't put pics up via the iPhone forum app.
