    Anyone ordered a white V8 D4 ??

For delivery in about 2 months time ?

Only I watched it going along the production line at Solihull today, from a part trimmed shell up to when it met up with its new chassis & running gear. Looks

Solihull's a brilliant trip, can highly recommend it to anyone fining themselves here on holiday

    Yep, loads of 'em !

It's comic how many are black coming down the production line, mix of D4's & RRS's but predominantly black. The occasional white one and stuck in the middle, a metallic red RRS which stuck out like a sore thumb Looking along the build sheets as the cars came past demonstrated the 75% export rate, I didn't see one car for the domestic market. Italy, Australia, USA, China, Russia & the UAE were the only destinations on the build sheets.

Some very interesting stats though and a nice ride round the tracks in a new 4.4 TDV8 Range Rover. 700nm of torque at 1000rpm is quite something.

Will post up a few photos from the experience centre when I download them, sadly no photos of the production line as it's not allowed. From Solihull I went on to Gaydon for a look round the museum as well as a tour round the JLR operations & development centre, courtesy of a chap from the G4 club who works there. Saw the development mules for the new RR, lots of Jags (including Ian Callum's very shiny XKRS), a few of the stickered up Evoque test mules in various states of disrepair and the hybrid RRS's trundling around the place. Rather large press fleet as well just sat in a car park. We weren't allowed out on the test track but form the thundering V8 noise out there, something was in the process of getting an incredible kicking.
