    D3 Tow Hitch Key

G'Day all, I recently bought a D3 TDV6 HSE and it came with the tow ball attached.
I would like to remove it when 4WDing as it has bottomed out on me but I can not find the key to remove it.

Is there a spot where the key lives?
I have checked in the tow bar storage area but had no luck.
The only key I got when I purchased the car was the ignition key.

Can I buy one or get one cut?

    Cheers Darren.

Mine were in the bottom glove box in a plastic bag, BUT
    the car was new.
The keys are numbered so I would think if you gave your VIN to a dealer they should be able to order you one or 2.

They all take the same key as far as I can tell. You can buy a complete new lock with two keys from LandRover for $28. I had to go to two different dealers though as the first one (Altos) told me I needed a whole new assembly for $600. The second dealer (Trivetts) knew what I wanted and had it in stock.

    PM is Private Message

PM is short for Private Message. Sometimes one does not want system bypass details and the like spread all over the internet.

A PM is just like a regular forum post except that it only goes to one person, the guy you PM'ed.

To access the PM function, click on the name link of the guy you want to PM in the top left corner of the appropriate individual forum post. A little box will drop down and one of the lines will say Send a PM.

A new page will then appear and you just type in it as normal. The reply will come later. To find out if you have a reply, watch in the top right corner of the AULRO page where it says Welcome, dwaters and just below that is Private Messages underlined, and the words Unread 0, and Total 0.

When you see it change to 1, (I assume it is 0 right now but it might already be 1 so the number would be 2 or something higher.

If it is already 1, open it up as there is probably a welcome email from AULRO or something like that.

A regular email notifying you of a PM might come in your regular email if you have told the forum, (checked the box), under User CP to forward notification of a PM to your regular email address. That option exists but you have to activate it. The FAQ has that info as well and is easy to understand.

The FAQ, Frequently Asked Questions, has more detailed instructions there on PM and everything else re the forum. To learn about your 3, you have to learn how to operate the forum as well. The FAQ is alot easier to master than proper operation of your 3 in bush conditions - and this forum is the place to learn the secrets to that as well.
