EPB light does stay on for a minute or so, when turned off.
Or do you mean stays on permenantly., that would be a problem.
Cheers Ken
When I park the D3 with the EPB in the on position, and then turn the ignition key off and pull it out , the RED park brake warning stays on .
The Park brake works perfectly normally during normal driving .Seems to do all the right things when asked , no noise ,holds well and releases well .
Recently changed my rear discs ,which eleiminated my vibration issue , RHR was warped , set the EPB as per Bodsys brake manual , 60ft/lb and then back off 8 clicks .
Im wondering if I havent left on ,some diagnostic/repair mode , as I did the stabdard 3 brake press, hold on the third , and hold EPB off/down for 3 seconds , then Key off and out and pull FL8.
Didnt notice this before I did the rear Disc change , so somethingI did or didnt do has bought this fault on .

Spot on Jonesy , thats because its SWMBO 's car! I only drive it once a month and have never noticed it before. Sure enough exactly 3 mins after the ignition off key out , the red Parkbrake light goes off .
I have looked through the Handbook for my 07 RRS to see how to get to the handbrake emergency release cable but cannot find it anywhere. Page 177 talks about using the EBD but not about using the cable.
So where might I find the instructions in the RRS handbook?
Note the centre console in the RRS is different to the D3 so the D3 instructions may or may not apply.
Thanks
Garry

Garry,
Here goes!
Remove gear shifter, pull knob straight up, do not twist, do not hit oneself in chin!
Lift rear console lid up & you will see the start of the the entire centre console trim! Now this entire piece comes off from the front of the cubby box to under neath the HEVAC. Place appropriate lifting tool, hard plastic boning tool is what I use, under the rear of the console section lift up to loosen the clips that hold it down, now place hands under the silver or wood trims (depending on which you have) & lift firmly up, be careful & try not to separate the silver or wood trims from the main section, once it starts it will then lift off relatively easily.
Once this unit comes away, you can unplug the unit & you will see the release cable, silver cable in a loop with a white clamp around it.
HTH.
Cheers
Hmmm - Ok - I think I follow, so I take this procedure is not in the handbook. I think I will just print your post and put it in the handbook in case I need it.
Thanks
