This was part of the recall range - a different problem to the OP. A faulty designed front bearing on the EURO 4 HPFP. They probably didn't do the latest recall work on your car, announced in November 2010.

Just had my 2008 TDV6 HSE fail on holiday and stumped up $1100 for the flatbed home with the family after a huge fuel leak. It's in for repair today and turns out the leak is from the pump.

The repairer is sussing out how to get the pump out without taking the body off! Anyone know if the body has to come off for replacement?

I mention this as I also had the numerous faults coming up which started with a transmission fault and ended with no drive and the car down to the stops. Locking and waiting till the park brake light went out then starting up again usually cured it.

From the above it sounds like the two could be related.

Body does not need to come off for repair.
It will log various faults from air suspension to terrain response to auto transmission etc etc.

Sounds about right fault wise.

The link to the ACCC website PRA above quotes a range of VIN which mine falls within but when I called my dealer and LR customer care they said it didn't ?

I guess the ACCC quote a wide range and then you need to confirm with LR.

Glad to hear the body doesn't need to come off and hope my repairer knows it too.

The ACCC will quote what LR have supplied them, which will be what is on the recall note, no use adding more numbers that do not need to be done!!
If your VIN is within the recalled range then it may have been missed, if the HPFP has failed I would ask your dealer (as a dealer must perform warranty work) to submit a PCR to LR on your behalf & let them know that your vehicle is within the range & for whatever reason, was not included.
Get your dealer to print off the recall notice & to check while you are there & be polite, let the dealer help you as long as you help them.
The response will take a few days to come back but be patient.

I've had LR customer care, a dealer and a LR specialist repairer dispute the VIN range quoted on the ACCC website and tell me that my vehicle isn't affected.

Is there a reason not to trust what they are telling me? Or has the ACCC just got it wrong? I have to say LRCC and the dealers weren't giving much away!

I'll go up to the repairer tomorrow and see what's on their computer.
