We noticed the same, the quietness is unbelievable.
Smoothness on the road is also VERY good, sort of floats on the highway, well i suppose it floats on air.

One thing i have trouble with is the wipers, the intermittent doesn't seem to be a constant rate lke the other cars i have had,it seems to change depending on vehicle speed, and what the rain sensors detect.Anyway,a very small gribe ,hidden by all the good things.

How can that be a gripe?

    Its not 'intermittent' its 'Automatic'...

And works 'as and when' needed.... Less rain, less wipes...

You can adjust it to be more or less sensitive...

Much better than the normal interval controlled units...

BTW - Get some "RainX" and apply it to all glass on your vehicle - rain will just sheet off the glass....

Maybe your thoughts but not everybody's

The rain x will probably confuse it,it will wipe when not needed.

As i have already said, minimal issue, way outweighted by a fantastic vehicle.

Rain X doesnt confuse it at all...

In fact, I often dont need to turn the wipers on at all - even in the most heavy of rain conditions... The water just beads straight off the glass.

I have found that you get used to the 'random' nature of the wipers - its more due to an ingrained 'comfort' of regular sweeps...

I found the same 'unnerving' behavior at first, but having spent a fair amount of time driving in adverse conditions in the last 6 months have come to appreciate the logic behind the behavior... (And the lack of wipers scraping across a dry'ish' windscreen.

Whats quite amusing is when you forget to turn them off of auto and a bug splats the sensor... You suddenly get a wiper sweep you were not expecting!!!!!!!!!

But on every point - the vehicle is amazing

The automatic wipers on the D4 is much better than the D3.

The ones on my D3 used to come on unnecessarily and keep wiping even though the windscreen was quite dry. Adjusting the frequency knob seemed to do nothing.

The automatic wiper system on my D3 works fine, I appreciate the fact that it in 99% of cases only wipes the screen when it needs it.

I see this updated system from the usual time set intermittent wipers as a major plus not a step back in any way.

Can't agree more. We've had a nissan for the past few years which sounds like a truck compared to the Disco. I'm almost too scared to add the front bar, snorkle and Cooper Zeons for the extra noise it might add...

That's why 4x4' have radio's to drown out the tyre noise ...

Seriously I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how small the noise increase is, if you put Muds on then that depending on tyre brand could be a different story however.
