That extended warranty will certainly appeal to a private buyer and give you a definitive market place edge if you decide to move the D3 on in a years time. It might even be of some use to you but knowing what to do today for tomorrow depends on the clarity of your particular crystal ball. Good Luck!!

I have until the end of June to decide whether to get the extended warranty. Any advice?

    Hi Ash,

I got the Landrover Extended warranty last May. It's good till 200k and still have another year to go yet. I had the same Km's as you so I decided it was worth it. When it got to 50K front bushes/arms were replaced under warranty. For $2500 it was piece of mind for me. I need the car for my job, so it must be on the road daily and reliable, so for me it was a no brainer. Considering the trade up to a new one, it's a small price to pay and keep what I have....a great vehicle that I love to drive every day.
    Cheers, Neil.

    G'Day Ash,
I have been in the same boat and decided to keep my D3 with 150klms on the clock. I have had the fuel pump ($2500) replaced under the extended warranty no probs. and would recommend it to anyone. When it runs out I'll just go with full RACQ road side assist and one of those fault finding gismo's and regular services and run the old girl till she just don't run no more.

Yeh the D4 is impressive but as Craig said. "If it aint broke don't fix it". I looked at most other make options and they just don't compete.

I love my D3 and the D4 is not that much of a step up to warrant the extra cash. Maybe future models will change my mind? Who knows.

    Hi Guys,

Did you purchase the LR Extended warranty from the dealer or an Allianz warranty from a broker?

The LR Extended warranty from the dealer costs $3,495 and covers the vehicle for 24 months / 200,000 kms.

The Allianz warranty from a broker costs $3,326 and covers the vehicle for 36 months / 60,000 kms.

Both warranties are backed by Allianz. The PDS looks the same to me. Anyone know if these products are the same?

My plan is to keep the D3 for another 2 years. Having 1 year left on the warranty when I sell would make the vehicle more attractive to a private purchaser. However there would be no point getting the "broker" warranty if they don't accept claims.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ash

I went with the LR warranty. But I would use the klms before the time is up.

I assume there is a good chance we will see the RRSPORT out with the 4.4TDV8 within a year - that will be a sensational car!
