From memory it was between 1/4 and 1/2 of the oil indicator gauge - closer to the 1/4. Enough for me to be concerned and mention it at the 6 months mini service but not enough to do anything about. I have a feeling I mentioned it in this forum and someone advised that a diesel does use a bit of oil initially - hence me waiting until the service. I just kept an eye on it until the service.

Hi all,

Am planning for a long trip in my MY2015 D4 3.0L and would like to carry a spare 5ltr oil. Have read the posts with great interest and it seems the choice of oil relies on the DPF

My VIN starts with SALLAAAN5GA **** and hoping that someone can tell me if a DPF is fitted.

I think what he means is what am I looking for?

Was only introduced for the 3.0l.
If u have a 3.0l, your vin will have a G if u have a DPF.
Eg: SALLAAAG incl. DPF, SALLAAAF no DPF.

The eighth digit being a N says yours is a low power (TDV6) without a DPF.
