To those that have fitted the Mitch hitch, how have the rear sensors handled it?
Mitch Hitch for me was about 12cm higher.....slightly smoother departure angle, provided you don't get hung up on the Mitch hitch which extends out further.
Was very easy to fit...list needed to remove both trailer fittings to get a big round file into the loop....you need to take a touch of the metal off. I put some Teflon paint in to help protect the metal from corrosion.
I have now had to order a rapid hitch, as may spare hayman Reese adjustable hitch does not go down far enough to hitch up the horse float....expensive exercise.

Absolutely no problem when the Mitch hitch itself is attached, works as if it isn't even on the car.But when the towbar or trailer is attached then of course the sensors pick that up and squeal that you are very close to something...Duh.
I have been very happy with my Mitch hitch and have had no issues with the rear door opening downwards and touching it (that some others have said they had). Frankly i don't know why anyone bothers with the crappy LR hitch.
I tow all manner of vans and trailers and just use a different towbar to match what i am towing - slide in and drive away. It is a little unsightly sticking out the back with the plastic cover removed but tis a minor matter. I like that I can return the vehicle to original when I sell by just removing the Mitch hitch and replacing the plastic cover (and then use on the next Disco 5 or 6 that I get).
Sensors do not work great with my rear wheel carrier. They simply got worse when I put the Mitch hitch on the other day....might need to cover the inner rhs one completely me thinks. Can't turn the damn sensors off on the 2012 model.Originally Posted by mervwho

Thanks all. I have one going on on Friday and I was told there may be an issue with the sensors.

I had to rotate mine slightly to stop the hitch setting the sensors off.
