I have it and wouldnt be without it.

It keeps the rear passengers (2nd row - we've never even raised the 3rd row) and the dogs in the back happy.

In hot weather, it also quickly brings the entire vehicle down to comfortable in a much shorter period of time.

    Personally wouldnt be without it.

Consider flying to another dealer and driving home

I drove 4 hours to Adelaide, Flight to Melbourne, Ride in the Queens Range Rover to MLR then picked up the D4, sat around chatting with friends for a couple of hours and then drove 15 hours home...

Got out of the vehicle tired, but amazingly comfortable.

There are ways to get exactly what you're looking for

Couldn't believe how much more helpful they were than the one i had dealt with for yrs.

    And price,well i won't go there

But my return trip was a bit longer, but very enjoyable.

    Rear Air in D4

Hi, I have had a D3 and D4 with rear air and I would describe it as really useful without being essential. In the southern half of Australia I suspect that you can get away without it for pretty much all of the year. I have found it best in really hot days with a full car when the front A/C struggles to cool the whole car down.

It is also useful if you have an engels in the car and need to combat both the radiant heat and the heat from the fridge on a hot day.

I had rear air on my previous car.....nice to have.

I wanted the diff lock on the D4.....so not an option for rear air. Stupid really.

Kids have had no issues even in 45 degrees up north. Decent vents with adjustable airflow, and a car that cools extremely fast.

I prefer what I perceive the better resale with the rear diff as opposed to rear air.

    Really??

    I have rear A/C & an e-Diff!

I will agree tho' if in Southern states you may be ok, but if you are more North, the Disco does have big windows.

Just a quick question to clear something up for me...

When you say, "diff lock" are you referring to the E-diff?

Cause, I know someone who has both rear air and the E-diff...

Unless you are talking about somthing else that I dont know about...

Seems to be the same thing with southerns in Perth....I could not have reversing camera without sat NAV.....I could not have ediff with rear air.

The disco did not have sport mode.

Seems that I have been led astray by this dealer at least 3 times when I ordered by D4. Might have to head over the MLR next time for my D5!

I guess southerns don't really know what they are talking about....and they only sell LR so you wonder how hard it could be.

But I do have NAV in the touchscreen, but it does not work, and I ordered it without NAV.

I ended up compromising on a D4 with rear air, high ice & reverse camera rather than travelling to a country dealer for a D4 with ediff.

Advice I received was that in Melbourne the majority of purchasers want the options packaged on my vehicle rather than ediff. I was also advised that the rear camera option may become more important due to the possibility of them becoming mandatory

If I had ordered a vehicle the same as mine but with ediff I was looking at nearly $10k more and 4 month wait.

Having said that I would have liked an ediff but will eventually fit a winch to compensate.

The other factor was that it as purchased from a dealer I know & trust.

    Cheers
